Canadian And Mexican Visitors To The United States

Citizens and residents of certain countries don’t need to apply for a visa for travel to the United States. On the whole, citizens of Canada and Mexico fit into this category. While you may not need a visa, you do still need visitor insurance. Being well covered for your trip means being prepared for any emergencies with visitor insurance coverage.

If you are traveling from Canada to visit relatives or friends you need to have a valid passport to enter and exit the United States. You don’t need a visa to visit the United States if you are a citizen of Canada, unless you fall under one of the ineligibility categories.

Citizens of Mexico and permanent residents generally must have a Border Crossing Card that is scanned on entry to the country. Citizens of the British Overseas Territories of Bermuda do not usually require a visa to travel to the United States, except in certain circumstances.

Check your requirements in advance of your travel date and make sure you know what’s expected of you. Don’t assume you will be able to enter the country without first checking  your eligibility for visa or non-visa entry.
