Keep your passport safe when traveling to the United States to visit friends or family with the following tips. Make sure your passport is always there to help you travel to the country and around it. Also keep protected with visitors insurance. Your never know when you may need to call on the financial help visitors insurance provides.
When you take a trip out of the country, take two photocopies of your passport. Leave one copy at home with a friend or relative and take a copy with you, making sure to keep it in a separate place to the real thing.
Keep your passport in your hand luggage, always. Or, better still, keep it in a zipped pocket or in a security belt. Make sure you secure it properly when you get to your destination.
Be careful who you give your passport to and where they take it. If you lose your passport, report it immediately. If you don’t report it stolen or lost, someone else could assume your identity and use your document as their own.
